City of Heyburn Special Council Meeting Minutes

May 15, 2013

6:00 P.M.

 

Council Present:

Rocky Baker, Leann Smith, Joanne Justesen and Cleo Gallegos.   

 

Employees Present:

Greg Richins, Dan Bristol, Steven Tuft and Deborah Hopkins.   

 

Visitors Present: 

Paul Aston.      

 

Meeting conducted by Mayor George A. Anderson.  Mayor Anderson welcomed everyone to the meeting. 

 

Mayor Anderson asked for a motion to amend the agenda to include an executive session for the purpose of litigation. 

 

Motion by Joanne Justesen to amend the agenda to include:  Litigation as per Idaho Code 67-2345 (f).  Second by Cleo Gallegos.  Roll Call Vote:  Rocky Baker – Aye; Cleo Gallegos – Aye; Joanne Justesen – Aye; Leann Smith – Aye.

 

Executive Session as per Idaho Code 67-2345(f) Litigation

Motion by Joanne Justesen to go into Executive Session as per Idaho Code 67-2345(f) Litigation.  Second by Cleo Gallegos.  Roll Call Vote:  Rocky Baker – Aye; Leann Smith – Aye; Cleo Gallegos – Aye; Joanne Justesen - Aye.

Steven Tuft, Deborah Hopkins, and Greg Richins.

 

Guests Present:

Paul Aston.

 

The meeting was conducted by Mayor George A. Anderson.  The topic was a matter of litigation.  This matter was discussed with the mayor, council members, and staff present.  Executive Session began at 6:02 PM.  The executive session concluded at 6:30 PM.  No decisions were made.  The council meeting returned to open session. 

 

City Attorney Steven Tuft left the meeting at 6:30 PM.

Quarterly Review of City Finances Pursuant to Idaho Code 50-708

This item was discussed by those present. 

 

After reviewing the Police Department budget, City of Heyburn Police Chief Dan Bristol was excused from the remainder of the meeting. 

 

The council meeting ended at 7:28 PM.
