City of Heyburn Special Council Meeting Minutes

February 5, 2013

5:30 P.M.

 

Council Present:

Rocky Baker, Cleo Gallegos, and Leann Smith.  Joanne Justesen - excused.    

 

Employees Present:

Greg Richins, Dan Bristol, Steven Tuft and Deborah Hopkins.   

 

Visitors Present: 

Kevin George, John Gillette, and Leisel Snyder.

 

Meeting conducted by Mayor George A. Anderson.  Mayor Anderson welcomed everyone to the meeting and then led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.   

 

Discuss/Approve Fundraiser Fugitive 5K Run – Kevin George

Kevin George answered questions from those present regarding the proposed race. 

 

Motion by Cleo Gallegos to allow the Fugitive 5K Run to be held on May 18, 2013 pending receipt of insurance coverage for the event.  Second by Leann Smith.  Vote:  Cleo Gallegos – Aye; Leann Smith – Aye; Rocky Baker – Aye.

 

For clarification purposes the Fugitive 5K Run is approved when evidence of insurance in the sum of at least $1 Million of liability is provided to the City, with the City as a named additional loss payee.

 

Discuss/Approve Addendum to the Gillette Lease – Greg Richins

John Gillette brought the mayor and council members up to date with the work that has been done at the old Heyburn Elementary School which included shoring up the floors in the gymnasium and hallways, weatherproofing all the doors and windows, and fixing the leak in the roof.  He asked the council members to consider paying the Intermountain Gas bill for the building. 

 

Motion by Rocky Baker to pay the Intermountain Gas bill for the old Heyburn Elementary School in an amount not to exceed $4,000.  Second by Cleo Gallegos.  Vote:  Cleo Gallegos – Aye; Leann Smith – Aye; Rocky Baker – Aye.

 

The council meeting ended at 6:13 PM.
