Planning & Zoning Commission Minutes

August 25, 2016

7:00 P.M.

 

Guests Present: Todd Miles, Mike Hotchkiss, Cindy Hotchkiss, George Ivie, Rose Ivie, Jeanette Lopez

The Planning & Zoning Meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. and a declaration of a quorum present by Chairman Russ Smith.

 

Attendance:

Chairman Russ Smith, Scot Bell, Maureen Newton, Planning & Zoning Administrator Tony Morley, and Recording Secretary Rhonda Kluzik. Juanita Teeter and Tony Luna – excused.

 

Declaration of Conflict of Interest:

No conflict of interest.

 

Approval of Minutes:

A motion was made by Scot Bell and seconded by Maureen Newton to approve the minutes of the April 7, 2016 Planning and Zoning meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Public Hearing – Special Use Permit – Application by Todd Miles, Miles Construction

Planning & Zoning Chairman Russ Smith presented information on the Special Use Permit submitted by Todd Miles for the construction of a 4-plex multifamily dwelling in a Commercial General Zoning District. This application is for the property located at the southeast corner of 20th and J Street (1950 J Street).

 

Chairman Russ Smith opened the public hearing.

 

Those speaking in favor of the Special Use Permit were: None.

 

Those speaking against the Special Use Permit were: None.

 

Those speaking neither against nor in favor of the Special Use Permit were: None.

 

A motion was made by Scot Bell to approve the Special Use Permit submitted by Todd Miles for the construction of a 4-plex multifamily dwelling on the property located at the southeast corner of 20th and J Street.  

 

With the conditions: Will have contact with the Plumbing Inspector to see what size of water meter he will need to handle the load of the project per the City of Heyburn Water Manger Eric Christensen. Planning & Zoning Members asked he not be required to pay to install or have curb and gutter unless the city gets a long-term Stormwater Program implemented.  

 

Seconded by Maureen Newton. Motion carried unanimously.

 

 

 

Other Business:

Planning & Zoning Administrator Tony Morley confirmed the next Planning & Zoning Meeting is scheduled for September 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
